This class we will be using Answers in Genesis: Our Weather and Water (1 semester) and Answers in Genesis: Our Planet Earth (2 Semester) 4th edition. This class will focus on understanding science through God’s amazing design of our planet earth. This class will use many different teaching methods. The following is an example of some topics that we will be covering during the year: meteorology, storms, ocean movement, glaciers, rocks, minerals and mountains. Students will also be conducting multiple experiments in class. Optional: several field trips will be coordinated outside of class. Fun with Logic

This Class will focus on students acquiring the tools necessary to allow them to effectively distinguish common errors in reasoning. During the year, we will be discussing many fun topics that will stir inquiring young minds to help them understand why they believe what they believe. Students will learn to tackle issues with sound judgment and scripture to back it up. This course is geared for young students to easily understand informal logical fallacies through discussion, roleplay, and fun projects. History: The Mystery of History Vol. III -The Renaissance, Reformation, and Growth of Nations.

This Class will take a very hands-on and traditional approach to learning history. In addition to lecture and reading, we will be making short films, creating lapbooks, watching videos, playing games and much more. To name a few, students will be studying the likes of Michelangelo, Christopher Columbus, Martin Luther, Henry VIII., Shakespeare, Pocahontas, and Copernicus. The Mystery of History curriculum gives students the ability to see the BIG picture. Students will learn about historical events in the order in which they occurred. To get through the book in a year, we will be covering 2-3 lessons per week. Homework will mainly consist of reading and finishing any projects that were not completed in class.   Optional: Field trips to the Getty Villa, Getty Museum as well as other local museums will be coordinated during the year on days outside of class.  Curriculum and materials required: Bible, 3 ring binder with paper, The Mystery of History volume III : Student Reader ( book is available on Christianbook.com for $43.89)    * Sibling discounts available:   *Offering significant discounts for those taking more than one of my classes

Home Economics

This is fun, practical hands-on learning class where students will learn basic kitchen skills, food prep, meal planning, baking, gardening, sewing, crafting, and much more.
